Revised VDA Notification - Maharashtra State January'2022

 Dear Readers,

 Government of Maharashtra has released revised minimum rates of wages (variable dearness allowance) effective from 1st January 2022 which will be valid till 30th June 2022.

In order to serve you better, we have prepared ready Reckoner of monthly minimum wages which is comprised and compared with previous and present periods’ Special Allowances (D.A.) and it is also included Basic Wages of scheduled employments for different class of workers under three different Zones / localities.

Withdraw increase of Minimum Wages - Punjab

Dear Readers

Government of Punjab, as per notification number No.ST/9408 had released the Minimum Wages for the State effective from 1st March 2020. In pursuance to the same, the Government of Punjab considering the emergent economic situation arising out of COVID-19 has issued an order withdrawing the notification number No.ST/9408 published on 1st May 2020 revising minimum wages effective 1st March 2020. Hence employer may continue to follow the existing minimum wages prevailing prior to the withdrawn notification until further notice from the Government of Punjab.

Factories Act 1948 - Maharashtra Rules - Revised (Basic) Minimum and VDA notification

Dear Readers, 

Greetings from Classic Labour!!!!

Maharashtra minimum Wages act notification has been published vide circular dated 05.08.2019, and the VDA for Factory Establishment declared Rs. 4725/-. 

However in the same month another notification vide circular dated 30.08.2019 was issued by Industries, Energy and Labour Dept. under Minimum Wages act for Factory Establishment; 

according to the said notification, it is mentioned that the Basic Wages for Factory workers has been increased as compared to their last Basic wages as per the Zone and Category wise.

Hence, confusion was created in the mind of the Establishment/Employers which Minimum Wages declared (Basic + VDA or Basic wages) needs to be implemented.

To clear the confusion another notification vide circular dated 19.09.2019 was issued in which it was clearly mentioned that the old Basic +  VDA of  Rs 4725 is applicable only from 01.07.2019 to 29.08.2019; and w.e.f 30.08.2019 to 31.12.2019 there will no VDA applicable only Basic Wages is applicable for the Factory Establishments.

Stay Order - Delhi Minimum Wages March 2017

Please note as per Delhi High Court Order in Case No. W.P (C) 12088/2016, the notification for Minimum Wages for Delhi issued as per Notification No. F.Addl. LC/Lab/ MW/ 2016/ 4859 dated 03.03.2017 has been stayed.

Thus, until the proceedings are decided in the court the Minimum Wages cannot be considered.
