Revised VDA Notification - Maharashtra State January'2022

 Dear Readers,

 Government of Maharashtra has released revised minimum rates of wages (variable dearness allowance) effective from 1st January 2022 which will be valid till 30th June 2022.

In order to serve you better, we have prepared ready Reckoner of monthly minimum wages which is comprised and compared with previous and present periods’ Special Allowances (D.A.) and it is also included Basic Wages of scheduled employments for different class of workers under three different Zones / localities.

Mission Begin Again Unlock 2.0 - Govt. of Maharashtra



Dear Readers,

In the view spread of Covid-19 Virus, and to take certain emergency measures to prevent and contain the spread of the virus, the Government in the exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, read with all other enabling provisions of The Disaster Management Act, 2005, it is expedient to extend the lockdown in the entire State of Maharashtra further till midnight of 31st July 2020.

Govt. of Maharashtra extended Lock-down - 3.0




Government of Maharashtra has issued the Revised Guidelines for the Extended Lockdown 3.0 valid up to 17th May 2020.

Private Offices in the area excluding the area of all Municipal Corporation within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Malegaon Municipal Corporation, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) can operate with up to 33% strength as per requirement, with the remaining persons working from home.

Set aside MHA, Maharashtra govt orders compelling payment of full wages during Covid lockdown: Textile company moves SC


Dear Readers,

Greetings from Classic Labour!!!!

In the continuation of the below link,  The petition filled by Mumbai based Textile Company in Supreme Court on Govt. of Maharashtra regarding compelling payment of full wages during Covid-19 lockdown.


Now Supreme Court grants Centre Two weeks to show how it will implement MHA Order directing payment of full wages during COVID-19 lockdown.

Today, Two Petition with respect to the direction issued by UOI to pay full wages came for hearing three Judge Bench along with another petition filled by Association of Journalist challenging reduction in wages. After hearing the parties, SC issued a notice. While examining the challenge, SC Expressed its view on how long an industry can be made to pay. The matter is kept after 2 weeks. Solicitor General submitted he will placed on record relevant polices. Senior advocate appeared in matters. No interim relief is granted by SC. All the matter will be tagged together and will come up for hearing after 2 weeks.

Establishment make payments to the contractors relating to Private Security, Cleaning/Housekeepers and ATM Van Services



Dear Readers,

In the view of regarding DO Letter dated 30.03.2020 initiative to be taken to handle the grave situation due to outbreak of COVID-19, The Hon’ble Minister of State for Labour and Employment issued note dated 21.04.2020 forwarded representation date 15.04.2020 received from the chairperson FICCI Committee of Private Security Industry wherein it was requested that;

·        Private Security, Cleaning/Housekeeping sanitization ATM van Services has worked during the lockdown period and as they have been recognized as ‘”Essential sectors.

·        Requested to pay these outsourced worker’s wages by the Contractors or Agencies, if the principal employer clears the dues and make the payment to the concern Contractor or Agencies on time.

·        Directed to take up the issue with all Principal employers make timely payment of the contractor and ensure that the contractor make timely payment to the contract workers including migrant workers.

Employer cannot terminate to any employee and reduced their Wages - COVID19


Dear Readers,

Labour Department of Maharashtra is taken a new step in the view of current situation, as the outbreak of COVID-19;

Department hereby published notification no. CL/IR/COVID/Desk dated 20th Mar’2020 to all Public/Private Establishment.

Below are some highlights of the said notification:   

·         Govt. requesting to citizens to remain at home & not to venture out;
·         Constraint the worker/employee to report at work;
·         Not to terminate any employee, causal or contract worker;
·         Not to reduce wages of any employee, causal or contract worker;
·         Leave shall be deemed to be on duty without any consequential deduction in   wage period;

BMC orders private companies to Completely Shutdown as Coronavirus count rises

In continuation to the earlier BMC’s circular of dated 17th Mar’2020; now there is a latest update received on 20th Mar’2020 from Municipal Commissioner of MCGM; wherein it states that

“All private, Corporates and establishments to be completely shut down".

BMC orders private companies to work only at 50% of capacity as Coronavirus count rises


Dear Readers,


Government of Maharashtra has issued an order under Section 2,3 & 4 of the Epidemic Disease act 1897 framed regulation for prevention and containment of COVID-19 under No. Corona 2020/CR/58/Aarogya - 5 dated 13/Mar'2020                                                                      

The following order is allowing to all the non essential service providing offices including Private as well as Public companies, Corp-orates and establishments to work only at 50% of capacity of staff to attend office on any day due to rising count of CORONA-VIRUS
